What is the product comparison between Samplitude Music Studio 2015 and Samplitude Pro X?

I recently received an invitation to purchase Samplitude Music Studio 2015. Looks good but I want to know the detailed difference between it and the Samplitude Pro X products. Is there a comparison chart with this information? Are there similar charts for other Magix products? It would be helpful for me to make a decision.

Hi,

I upgraded to 2015. I haven't seen a comparison chart. The only thing that I can offer is to make your own comparison by looking at all of the features for each.

For Samplitude Music Studio 2015: look here.

For Samplitude Pro X: start here. Then here. For functions look here.

You can download the Pro X manual here.

Then open each of the functions indicated and try to make the comparison for yourself. If you do, kinkly share it with the rest of us (in the Samplitude Music Studio part under the Discussions tab of this Forum).

You can download and try the trial versions of each to help make your own comparison.

I can tell you one big difference though.....price.

There are comparisons of other products, but it is the same as what you see to compare Music Studio 2015 with Samplitude Music Studio 2015.

Comparison charts that used to be around seem to have disappeared.

Let us know what you find out.

Well I just purchased SMS 2015 and I am very disapionted in the look and feel.  I liked 2014 much better.  i am sure they fixed some bugs but this was not an upgrade GUI wise.  it looks childish and not professional,  you can no longer undocl the mixer!! REALLY guys!!!  that just really annoyed me as I use 2 monitors and like to put my mixer in one and he tracks in the other.  i'm not sure i would purchase it as I am thinking about asking for a return. i'll give it a week and get back to you as I dont want to be to hasty but the mixer is one huge set back on me and for the life of me I cannot figure out why they would remove such a great feature as being able to undock and resize the mixer, as it is now you have to scroll.

Hi,

I agree that it looks, maybe, less professional, but I like it better because I found the old screen too cluttered with buttons that weren't relevant for what I was doing. This is a lot easier on the eyes, and I have a 27" main monitor and a 19" second one. Also, I like the left side better; it's easier to find instruments and synths. I can now see what I'm doing; the previous version had too much information down the left side that had to be hidden, unhidden, etc. to see what was there. I also like the new on-screen keyboard features.

As for the Mixer, I have no trouble moving it to my second monitor. Maybe you aren't grabbing it correctly. Try on the body of the image near the upper right, but not at the top. To get the monitor on the screen, I clicked on the large Mix button at the top and the Mixer pops up on the screen. I can resize it and move it with no problem.
