What is the difference between audio and midi recording?

I'm having problems here. I tape on the frist track and everything goes fine! I tape drums from my syntizier.
Then I go to tape on the second track a little lead. When I go to listen to it I hear the drums in both tracks plus the lead; Does this have something to do with audio and midi recording? Or am I doing something else wrong?

I used to have that problem, i think the answer lies in your control panel.
goto control panel
select sound audio devices
click the adio tag
click the volume button in the sound recording section
then mute stereo mix
and that should do the trick
