When I drag a soundpool sample (or anything else) to the track area, I get the error msg :microsoft sound mapper cannot record". Why can't I use my expensive software for it's intended purpose?
I am just sharing what I know, I do not use Samplitude.
Ms sound mapper comes with window. The sound mapper is part of the Microsoft GS Wavetable MIDI Synth.
Therefore, it seems in the settings you have selected MS sound mapper as a playback or recording device.
Please try to open Samplitude's Preferences and select it as your playback or recording device. Also check the settings in the computer control panel.
Note: while typing the above text I have checked my Magix Music Maker settings:
In recording I have chosen Audio driver Tascam audio interface(installed externally)
In Program setting/Audio Playback I have chosen Asio driver, my audio interface that is Tascam and in the Audio/Midi input device is Tascam audio interface.
