There is a chance the VST freeware might not run in the Music Maker. It happens with me some times but some VST works well.

Your VST should be DLL file  or whatever file you got locate where your Music Maker has SYNTH folder.( I use Music Maker 16 Premium and if I click VST button I can know the path.) when you found Synth folder of Music Maker just copy the VST file or you can also drag and drop inside the synth folder. Now go and open your Music Maker click on Synthesizer and your freeware should be added.

(the above method may not work in Music Maker 17 or above why not give a try and see)
