No new features, meaning the ones that are in MEP2017 Plus/Premium but not in VPX.

Yes, I am looking forward to those too but a somewhat annoying thing about the new features is that, as the patches are cumulative, it means it is necessary at every subsequent patch, to download what is approaching 1GB in MEP2017 even when there are only a few fixes in the patch.

In the rating, I indicated that stability and speed were poor.

Fixing bugs is not on the list:

1. TRA is still not working; the project folder has some bugs;
2. Edit and Object Trimmers have a few problems;
3. I have also been having problems in one project where doing certain effects or even using the jog wheel causes the timeline to suddenly jump to another location and downwards several tracks, and sometimes all of the tracks shrink right down to extra small height.
4. I also have trouble getting "Edit wave externally" to show up. I have it working now on my desktop, but not on the Surface Pro. It was working on my desktop, then I changed the editor from AML to Music Editor 3, the option no longer showed up, changed back to AML, still didn't show up, changed it to a link to AML and the option showed up. The same trick doesn't work on the Surface Pro. This has been an on-going problem for quite some time.
5. The Open button or command often switches to some location other than my project folder. It seems to get changed to a folder used for exporting or something far from my project folder.

As for new features, a few that I can think of quickly are:

1. Add in the features that are in MEP but not in VPX;
2. Add in a couple of essentialFX effects to the audio side, in particular Vocal Strip (cheap improvement for Magix);
3. Change out Music Editor 3 for AML or something with AML features like the spectral editor (minus the webradio). ME3 is looking very old;
4. Add track names and colour coding to the Mixer;
5. Add track colour possibility. I don't know how this would work with object colours, though. Samplitude has these features.
6. Add in the Share selection to the top menu. Strange that it is not there (Magix once insisted that it was there). I want to be able to simply go from VPX to MusicMaker, score, return audio to VPX, as per my tutorial on doing this with MEP/MusicMaker.

For third party:

1. Red Giant - Knoll Light upgrade with possibility to keyframe - meaning able to fade in/out the effect (this came with MEP2015 Premium, I believe, not with VPX)
2. Red Giant - Particular
3. Red Giant - Looks (did not get reinstalled for some reason) - upgrade to SE which has adjustment controls

Clearly, I am not considered as suitable to complete any such survey because nothing appears for me! I even unticked the "Hide News" item (under Program Settings>System), still no dice! 😭

I very much like and agree with the points you make above; VPX should share at least facility-parity with MEP. As to Audio Editor: I don't think I've ever need to use this link but, in my case, because VSCL was part of my VPX 365 package, it is listed as "Audio Editor".

You got VSCL with VPX. Peter got Mercalli V4 with VPX. I only got a survey with VPX.

On my desktop, the "Edit wave externally" and AML are now working wonderfully. There were problems initially and I complained to Magix, and then gave up when they said that AML was not intended to work with MEP/VPX as a replacement for ME3. Wrong. So I have been exporting the audio to a wave, fixing it up in AML, exporting and importing back into VPX. Today I tried the direct route again. Just make sure that you have saved the project at least once to register the project name. The selected audio part of a clip was mixed down and sent to AML, I modified it, quit and it asked if I wanted to save - yes, went back to VPX and my wav file had now been changed. This didn't work way back and I should have tried again sooner. I did another test with all of the audio and mixed it down (Shift+D) and sent it to AML, modified, quit/saved, audio file was now modified in VPX. Wonderful!

The mix-down command is no longer on the menu that I can see, and the help file suggests exporting the audio rather than mixing down. The difference is that the original audio files that may have been adjusted, are no longer available (the original can be restored but not with any changes that had been made) so any refinements at the object level or mixing are no longer possible. This is probably why Magix does not recommend the mixing down part. However, there is a simple workaround - mix down, Ctrl+C on the new wave file, Ctrl+Z to undo and the original audio clips come back, Ctrl+V pastes the mixed down audio file. Now you have both and can mute the track(s) with the original sound and use the mixed-down file, or vice-versa. Now if I could just get this working on the Surface Pro....

As for Knoll Light Factory, I just remembered that I had found a workaround for the fading in-out. Duplicate the background image, tracks 1 and 3, put the effect on the one on track 3 and then simply fade it in or out or play with the video level. Still, this only allows for a straight line movement between two points, so key-framing would be helpful, to make an arc or something, unless someone has found a way to do this.

Just thought of a few more things:

Bugs:

6. Project folder has some bugs - in particular with importing methods; only regular import (place at the end) and replace seem to work. Insert places the clip at the end, it does not insert. Multiple select for insert causes the objects to the left to disappear somewhere way off to the right and pretty much inaccessible - very strange what happens; pressing on end does not show the objects and the timescale disappears. Overwrite also puts the object at the end. Dragging multiple objects to a point on the timeline where there are other objects causes an overwrite. There are other problems.

New features:

7. A way to export the items in the Project folder to a text file.

8. A way to export to a text file the "Used files" under "Movie information" of the Project Settings.

One problem I have seen in VPX is in the Brightness / Contrast effect>Curves - if you select just one of the colour channel and try to adjust say, the green line, the whole monitor turns green and the RGB parade only shows a green wave form. You then need to cancel the effect to get back to normal. If you adjust the whole 3 channels with the white line first you can subsequently adjust the single colour channels without problem.

Does this happen on your setup?

One plugin I would like to see bundled is Neat Video for noise reduction. Prodad Vitascene was one of my favorites also.

Confirmed. Whichever colour is selected (RGB) and the screen turns that colour. Subsequently selecting the white line removes the red without have to cancel. Another bug to add to the list.

I raised a commercial ticket with Magix today noting that my VPX had expired and that there was no word from Magix about renewal, and that I still had a list of bugs outstanding with Magix that was now growing.

Neat Video would have been a good one had I not already bought it.

Pixelan SpiceMaster would be an interesting one for people (I already have it).

Confirmed, however for me this only happens when applying the first point to the colour graph, after that a change of colour the preview image reverts to normal, add a new video / image same happens again

This also occurred in patch 15.0.3.138.
