VPX(8) - Export to MP4 (FlashPlayer and AVCHD) - error on export

browj2 wrote on 5/16/2017, 9:48 AM

VPX 15.0.4.164

I can no longer export to mp4 or m2ts. See the image below and the error messages at the bottom of each trial. In both cases, I simply select a preset from the list as usual. The only change I made was AAC audio - default was 44100 Hz - changed to 48000 Hz. The project settings are shown in the second image. The project contains a 4m36s mxv file with no changes. I did this because when I could not export the original project, I exported to mxv and tried exporting to mp4 again, without success. Note, exporting to wmv and mxv work fine.

However, I successfully imported the mxv file into a project on my Surface Pro 4 and exported it to mp4 using the same settings.

Any ideas as to what has gone wrong? A fix? Why does the preset show 44.1kHz when the project is 48kHz? Bug?

Thanks,

John CB

Hi John CB

If you are using the MC codec - then if you have the Calculate effects on GPU option in the export dialog checked and HWA is also checked, this combination is known to give issues.

I have had the same error as you and also when it does succeed I get a 0 byte file.

If you are using HWA then uncheck the export dialog option.

Hi John EB,

I am using the MC codec. Calculate video effects on GPU was unchecked, but HWA checked. I tried all combinations and the culprit is HWA. With HWA off, GPU on or off worked.

Thus, for me, the solution is MC, HWA off.

Thanks,

John CB

@browj2

See my comments in this post: https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/mpeg-4-export-moduel-export-was-canceled-due-to-an-unknown-error--1190449/

The problem in your first post screenshot. is that with MC and HWA on "Auto" in the "advanced video settings", it tried to use OpenCL HWA on your Radeon card in your Desktop which is not suitable for HWA export. Similarily in your second SS it probably tried to do the same. It seems a bit random as to whether it shows OpenCL, Cuda, or GPU in the export window in my experience but the result is the same - an error message.

On your Surface Pro without a discreet graphics card it would have defaulted the to Quicksync HWA and used the on board Intel HD graphics, the only GPU available, successfully.
