The display looks too dim and vague. Is there any way to make it more sharp and brighter.

The Global meter settings intensity can be adjusted as shown below.
If this does not provide enough 'brightness' is the display monitor/screen set to a low brightness?
What is your computer specification, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full and what is the monitor/screen size and resolution.
