KaWai-Lau wrote on 7/17/2022, 7:12 AM

My import video format is Sony HLG and Slog 10 bit 422 Rec2020. Export in hevc. Using windows 11 i7 6core 9750, Intel uhd630, gtx1650 4G with display 100% sRGB. No option for HDR is seen, unlike vegas pro which shows hdr options.

Thanks for advice

@KaWai-Lau

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . No option for HDR is seen . . . .

Assuming you are using the full purchased version of VPX 14 - do you mean you are not seeing these options?

Note: the export is Chroma subsampling is 4:2:0

Thanks John

I got the screen you attached. I am new to HDR. Can you give me more information on chroma subsampling 420. Where is the hdr I recorded gone. Is it clamped in the SDR screen.

Many thanks for your guide.

@KaWai-Lau

Hi

. . . . more information on chroma subsampling 420 . . . .

See the section below the Test results, in this article for the best description of chroma subsampling.

. . . . Where is the hdr I recorded gone . . . .

Do you mean Exported to it should be in Documents, Magix, Video Pro X14, Exports if it is not there then it will be in the location specified in the export dialog - if you saved the project, open the export dialog it should still tell you where the file is located.

. . . .  Is it clamped in the SDR screen . . . .

If you have a none HDR monitor(s) then you will not see the video as HDR it will be reduced to the sRGB colour space or whatever colour space the monitor is set to.
