Vitascene 2 transitions not applying

The transition effects are not working as expected with VitaScene 2.

I am using Magix's VPX 3.  I have Video A and Video B on my VPX 3 timeline.  I "cross-fade" the two clips together on the timeline....then select and highlight video B.  I goto my effects tab within VPX 3 and select the ProDad Vitascene 2 plugin.  I then select a transition preset (wintin vitascene) double click it to apply then from vitascene select File>back to editing program.

With the Film effects it works fine as it only need appy to the video clip you have selected

However, the "transition effect" is applied to video B and the not functioning as a "transition" between Video A and Video B.  (i.e.  Blur Dissolves>Stretch Blur Defocus #187)

am I missing a step?  seems it worked this way before but now its not.

thanks in advance

Stephen

Hi currysteph, good to see you here again!

I'm not sure about why the transition is not working as you expect!  When you click on the plug-in does the Vitascene edit window open?  Is the transition shown to work on the preview screen?  Does it then not transfer back to VPX?

It's a little while since I needed to use a Vitascene transition within VPX but i'm going to be doing some serious video editing over the next few days so I'll experiment and report back!

Just to follow-up this one:

I used a Vitascene 2 transition yesterday on a short piece (as an experiment).  The effect worked on both A and B video files without problem.  So not sure what to suggest in your case.

Update: having re-read your original post I see one difference between how I do this and what you are doing.  On the "A|B" transition box on the video file I right-click which opens a drop-down menu which includes a Vitascene option.  Choosing that I then have a "default" transition applied; then choosing from that same drop-down menu "Settings", the VS edit screen opens and I can choose/edit/manipulate whichever transition I wish to use.  I don't think I've ever tried to insert a VS transition via the "Effects" tab.

HTH.
