Sure.  It would help if you told us exactly what you find to be difficult.

If you are talking about "drawing" in the MIDI data being difficult, the only other option would be to plug in a MIDI controller keyboard and actually playing it in realtime.

If you mean creating an entire song strictly in MIDI, you'll need to create a separate MIDI track for each instrument in your arrangement.
