Hi

Assuming you are on Windows 10 - check the Windows settings, Privacy & Security camera option 'Let desktop apps to access your camera option is turned on.

If you are using a SCART plug at the VHS player end and it has a switch on it ensure this is set to Out

If still have problems with the video and you are using the Magix USB video grabber, try updating the drivers from here. Select the driver for the colour of the USB device if the device has K0065 or K0067 then use the Premium driver.

Thanks for this advice, still there is a problem. I updated all drivers on the PC running om windows 10 also and I obtained video signal and perfect audio, but the set PAL did not work, only when I changed the video standard to NTSC MJ, but very bad quality and far from even the VHS tape resolution and shifting from black/white and pretty blurred colors. Also interrupted video when played back. I also tried on a new lap top running windows 11 with exactly same result.

Hi

What is the model number of the Lumatron player?

Which TV standard are the VHS tape recordings - NTSC or PAL?

What you are describing sounds like is a VCR player that is a PAL VCR player with the capability of playing NTSC tapes and is outputting a pseudo NTSC signal often called PAL 50 or PAL 60.

These will play fine on a TV, however for the video grabber this is an unsupported format.

By additional checking, that is exactly the case. The vidoe tape seems like being recorded on VHS tape in USA, then played on a VHS recorder capable of running different formats. PAL tapes work fine.
