I have bought the Video Saver version 4 with an usb device to connect to the vcr. It all works and I have saved four videotapes to the computer. But now when I click the recording button it starts and stops after 1 second. I have tried it with two different computers and several videotapes. Even those that worked yesterday. But the problem is the same.
Any suggestions?

For that 1 second that it runs do you see any picture or hear any audio or notice a signal on your audio mixer? If not try using a different cable to connect the USB device to your video recorder. If that does not work try using Windows DVD Maker to see if you can get a signal through the USB device. This will tell you if the problem is the USB device or something in the Video Saver software.
