Video pro x16 stuck at (Initializing video monitor(source)

HI!

I bought Magix Video Pro 16X earlier this month (18.7.2024) and have used it without any issues for about 1.5 weeks.

But one evening when I was editing a video, I saved my work, closed the program, and planned to continue later that evening. However, when I tried to open the program again, it wouldn't start and got stuck at this part (see the image below).

I left the program and the computer on all night, hoping the program was just slow, but nothing happened. It's very strange because before this problem, the program worked very well and quickly.

I have searched through many forums and followed Magix's own tips, but no one else seems to have the same problem as I do, especially with Video Pro X16...

@Ruuska

Hi

Using Windows File Explorer browse to the folder:

C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X16.

Delete the file video_pro_x.ini then start Video Pro X, this should clear the problem.

@johnebaker @Ruuska,

What an odd coincidence. I had exactly the same problem tonight. Thanks for the solution John EB. Just wondering, is this a common occurrence? Is there something that we did to corrupt the ini file?

@Can-Dive

Hi

. . . . . Just wondering, is this a common occurrence? . . . .

That depends on the frequency for 'common occurrence'.

In my experience this is not common providing the program is shut down correctly, I have had no occurrences this year and last year a couple of times when I was testing an older plug-in before finally dumping the plug-in.

Shutting down using Task Manager as the program hung was the cause.

...Shutting down using Task Manager as the program hung was the cause....

That makes sense. Thanks again for the solution.🙂
