Video Monitor have diferent Color Video ProX6

JotaFlip wrote on 4/26/2015, 11:26 AM

Hello people,

I have a urgent question:

i'am making a videoclip in Magix Video Pro X6, and this is what appened:

The video files that i'am importing have a diferent and better color in the right monitor, the momnitor that is showing the original file.

When i'am playing the video in the left monitor the image is always more dark, with less  brightness.

and i don't put any efects, and i need the image always exacly as the original recording with my camera, that apeear no the right monitor.

The result is always a movie diferent that the original video files... i just want the original images without no modifications.

Hi

If both monitors are the same make / model check that they have the same settings both in the graphics card and on the monitors themselves.

Colour and brightness level differences are a typical result of using none colour matched monitors which cost an absolute fortune.

Same make monitors can exhibit some colour and brightness / conrast difference and this is where you need to colour calibrate both monitors (at a much lower cost than having matched monitors).

I use and would recommend a Color Munki. For the work I do the Color Munki Smile does a very good job.

I use it on my dual monitor set PC and also on two laptops so they are all colour matched as close as possible.

NOTE: - you need to reset both monitors to default settings and adjust the brighness before colour calibrating.  Once you have them calibrated you do not touch any of the brighness, contrast or colour settings / profiles settings on the monitor or graphics card.

Recalibration should be carried out once per month.

Hi Felipe,

You should post the image that you sent me in the private message.

It shows distinctly different exposures between the source and the preview monitors. The only thing that I can think of wouod be to try modifying the movie parameters under the top menu Effects. Adjust the gamma and HDR settings if possible to bring the previous image up to the source image. I'm away from home so I can't help much more.

One other thought, are there any exposure or color corrections applied to the clips?

@John EB,
If Felipe posts the same image that he sent me, the preview and source monitors are side by side on the same physical monitor, so it's not a case of dual monitor mismatch, but rather something in the program settings, I think.

Hi

I agree with John CB an image would be better for us to see what is actually happening - also include a zoomed in image of a section of the timeline showing the affected clip(s).
