What TV/capture card do you have and what kind of drivers does it use? WDM? BDA? Make sure that card and drivers are properly installed and recognized by Windows in the first place. Make sure you have the most up-to-date driver from the manufacturer, too. If you're still having problems, this might boil down to a compatibility problem between the program and your hardware. You might want to use the software that came with your capture hardware to capture and then import the result into Movie Edit Pro for editing and DVD-authoring.
