Video file format

I am making av new project by importing pictures from my own computer. That went well, but when I tried to import a video from my computer (video taken by my iphone) i got this message: The file format of C:\users\Bruker\videos\IMG-0031.mov cannot be read.

How can I change the format ? Do I need a special program ?

Hi and welcome.

To play the mov.file format you must have a working copy of QuickTime on your computer.

If your iPhone allows it change the recording format to MP4 and constant frame rate.

The latter will stop an audio sync issue you are likely to have once you have the video imported into Rescue your Video Tapes.

If you do meet this problem with the current video then you need to run it through a video converter, eg MovAvi (paid for) or Handbrake (free) to get constant frame rate video - at the same time you could convert it to mp4 eliminating the need for Quicktime.
