Video and Slideshow Archive 8

How does this get installed from a download link.

I unzipped the 6G file into a directory, but did not get a serial number as outlined in the EULA.

I already see a directory under my media, slideshow music, that contains many folders, but I'm not sure how to include the download to them and sort out the wav files too.

Hi,

Magix gives us all of these and I guess expects us to know where to put them and what to do with them. It is confusing at first.

I don't have Archive 8, but I have another one that is similar. The V&S Archive 8 contains sound effects and songs. I don't think that there are any soundpools (loops) but there may be some. I presume that you also got Music Maker Sound edition with the download. If you are new to Music Maker (MMM) then you will soon find out all about Soundpools. Soundpool files that can be used as such in MMM have instruments under the main folder. Thus under Dubstep there would be Keys, Lead Synth, Pad, Drums, Bass, etc. Under most of these are different types of loops or sounds, each with a number from 1 to 7 representing the key. 1 is C, 4 is F, 5 is G.

What I did, and I think that the soundpool installation actually initiated this, was to put all Magix/Catooh sounds, soundpools, music, photos and videos in Public under C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common. In the various programs, like MEP and Music Maker, I added links to the folders. In MMM I add the folder location under import soundpools.

Some of the objects may be for SlideShow Maker or SoundTrack Maker and you may want to add them into the appropriate locations.

The next thing you need to do is to review what you have so that you will have an idea of the possibilities of using the objects in X6 or X5 or MMM.

Lastly, keep the original download archived so that later on you will be able to go back to see where you obtained these objects. I have thousands and I want to avoid purchasing anything that I may already have, thus it pays to keep track of them.

Enjoy!

Hi again Greg and welcome to Magix,

Saw you on the Pinnacle site which I also have. I used to use it for my video projects but then switched to Magix MEP, mainly because I was worried about where Pinnacle would end up. It seemed to be headed for the trash heap. I upgraded to 17 and like the fact that it has a lot of effects and I already had some of the Red Giant plugins. But I only use it now to support Magix projects. I also have Music Maker Premium, Samplitude Music Studio, Audio Cleaning lab, Video Sound Cleaning Lab, Xara DPX9, and a few other Magix programs.

I will be very interested in hearing your thoughts on X6, as I am considering getting it, but I'm still undecided. MEP 2014 Plus seems good enough for what i do and I haven't yet seen enough goodies to justify the expense.

Greetings

I sorted out the slideshow archive 8, and still expermenting with the workflow, features, and such.  It's going to take a bit of learning.  I don't know if MX6 has all the features that PS does, but I normally don't use to many special effects.  I can say, once I installed it, flawless, no crashes, smooth editing, fast rendering. Naviigating the timeline, editing is a breeze. I'm beginning to investigate the dvd menu setup, markers, how to set up chapters and such. It's very expandable, one can do alot with audio.  I've only had a little bit of time each day to work with it, so there is alot to learn.

I've notice the forum here has its regulars, and found help easy to come by.  That helps.

Hi Greg,

Could you please take a look at the thread below and give us your opinion as to what you see with respect to Heroglyph 4 LE? See the link from George to the ProDad site that talks about Rapid vs Pro. We would like to know if the 4 LE version that came with X6 is the same as Rapid. If not, what is it.

http://www.magix.info/us/what-is-prodad-heroglyph-4-le.knowledge.1075974.html?msg=answeradded

I am contemplating downloading and installing the demo, but I hate doing that if I have to remove it. Like others, I have 2 days left to decide to purchase or not.

Thanks,

My first download (2/9/2014) was for Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Premium, it came with proDAD Heroglyph pro V4, title , teaser and trailer solution, NewBlue and ColorFast

Then for $200 I upgraded to x6 (2/16/2014).  This cam with Video and slideshow sound archive 8.

I have not had a chance to explore Heroglyph, never used it, and don't know if X6 can intergrate to it.

Haven't had enough time. Right now, I'm exploring DVD menus, and producing coaster DVD's, I can watch them on my pc, but my panasonic dvd/blu-ray player is saying its incompatable.

Spending my time trying to solve this issue.
