Vegas Pro 21 - My computer renders SLOW

Problem:
I put a composite Z-Depth on a video to let another video come through.
adjusting anything is near impossible, The preview takes 6 second perframe to preview at lowest preview.
I decided to render the video to a new track just to be able to see a preview.
It is currently taking 6 seconds per frame to render, 12hrs to render a 1 minute video. .

1. Am I doing something majorly wrong or is this normal?
2. What computer spec would give me a great experience with Vegas Pro.

Background:
To give you more about myself, I used and loved Vegas Video (Sonic foundry, then Sony) from 2001 to 2011. Problem was, it was dog slow rendering on whatever machine I used and would glitch and crash constantly, My standard practice became, make an edit and then immediately ctrl+s.
Now that my Macbook Pro will not even run Final cut Pro x or Photoshop, I am making a journey back to PC and of course Vegas Video. I assumed I would have a better experience...

Please Help me understand how or what hardware I need to have a stable, quick rendering experience with your product.

My Computer Specs are:
Intel i5-10500T 2.30GHz (Runs at 22% on renders)
Mem: 40 GB
Disk: SSD
GPU: Intel R UHD Graphics 630 (This runs at 100% on renders)

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
