Using xara designer pro to create and upload website to 1&1 webhost, the files upload OK but does not work on web

Has anyone had a similar experience when trying use xara designer pro ftp section of the program. I designed a website in the prog, exported it as directed, obtained a domain from 1&1 and it successfully uploaded to my webspace but when I type my domain name into my browser, all I get is an error 404 message. I used an xara web template to design the site, but have tried everything I can think of so can you help please.

Just to say that I sorted this one out myself and my findings may be useful for others in the future who may experience a similar problem. When uploading your files you need to turn off/pause your virus checking program, this is certainly true if you are using 'Kapersky Pure' as I am.

Hopefully this information is helpful to a few of you.
