Using Jpeg illustration vs bitmap - how do they look on larger screens? I am editing a documentary project for
film festivals - what will those jpeg illustrations look like on the larger screens? In other words -
will the jpeg illustrations blur when shown on the larger screens?

I  dont think you will see any difference. There are no artefacts on jpg's (with moderate compressing) if they are not changed and saved several times. Remember that "all" digital stillcameras save as jpg !
