Program installed, select 'import VHS video', device not seen on screen (teaching video shows i/p option of s-video or plugs). Found drivers not loaded, used help pages to navigate to driver files, downloaded and installed. Still no joy, deleted all and reinstalled, no change. @Robert-Swan

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You need a 64 bit driver for the USB capture device to work with Movie Edit Pro - try this one here.

1st My apologies, this should have been in the 'Rescue your video tapes section'.

2nd, Thanks for the responses, I will take that driver as well.

3rd I have managed to get the convertor seen and program working by using my administrator account.

@Robert-Swan

Hi

I have moved he topic to the correct form.

. . . . I have managed to get the convertor seen and program working by using my administrator account . . . .

Apologies for more questions, however the answers may help future users who encounter the same issue

  1. Are you the only user on the computer?

  2. Did you create a standard user account for day to day use of the PC and only use your Administrator account for certain tasks such a program installation or maintenance?

  3. Do you mean to ran the program with elevated Administrator privileges ie right click Run as Administrator?

  4. What is the build number and latest patch version of the Windows installation.

Thanks

John EB

Hi. Just to add something to this issue. I had changed a few things in my windows setting and the next time I tried to use my video capture device I too had the device not visible. I re-installed and all that but nothing. In the end I contacted support and they told me to make sure that my laptop camera was turned ON. After turning this on everything worked:)
