Update Not Working

I have Xara Designer Pro X 18.5.0.63630  DL x64 Jan 10 2022. I just got notice of an update when I accessed the program. I accepted and it download (in German). I selected 'upgrade on program shutdown'. The modal that popped up asked for permission. The update processed as one would expect. When I opened the program again, no change, still 18.5.0.63630  DL x64 Jan 10 2022. The upgrade notice popped up again. 'Do you want to upgrade?' I accepted, and the 289MB file download again. Went through the same procedure. Still Xara Designer Pro X 18.5.0.63630  DL x64 Jan 10 2022.

Hi,

Version 18.5 is not removed. Your screen icon/button is still there for 18.5. There should be another one for 19. Also, check under the Start menu. Xara 19 should be listed at the top under Recently Added and under Xara.

Sorry to say, but this seems like a ridiculous oversight on the part of the engineers to not provide its users with a proper English download version.

Originally, had an issue of trying to update where I download, and then click to install. It then attempts to install, but shortly thereafter says, "There is already the same or newer version of Xara Designer Pro X Installed. The installation cannot continue."

Just read a few additional comments, went to my start menu, clicked on Xara 19 (instead of 18) and yes, Willkommen" Seriennummer eingeben "Nur noch wenige Schritte und Sie Konnen Lhre Software endlich starten...." Started the program, clicked update, and thus far, all is in German, and it does not appear that there are any new updates to be had that will change that. The regular program is in English, but the Update Window says, "Es wurden keine Aktualisierrungen gefunden" Button says SchlieBen

There is, as I understand, still a problem with the Magix Notifier / Updater (from the response I received from support today). I bypassed this failing process by downloading the v19 trial version, which in my case loaded in English correctly. Then entered my product key and all is almost OK. v19.0 is a separate installation; it does not overwrite v18.5 - you can check this by looking at the installed programs and you will have access to both, unless you remove one of them.

The 'almost OK' is a caveat that the Designs Gallery (even when using download all for each folder) does not, it appears, to retrieve all the Online Catalogue and when trying to do so, gets stuck when it cannot retrieve one or other templates. The online help still shows v18 too, Currently a proper mess, but you can workaround most of it and v19 works well - I've updated several of my sites to-date
