Unable to read WMA on Windows 10

Hello,

Since I purchased and installed MP3 Deluxe 19 (v19.0.1.48), I have not been about to play or convert any WMA files. Upon launching the program and importing my music, I receive the following message:

[FileName].[FileType]

The Windows Media system could not respond.

I've been in contact with tech support recently regarding this issue and was told this is a known issue. Unfortunately, they also said "...there hasn't been any further development work done on this product for a while, and [they] cannot promise if this particular issue would be fixed." So I've decided to reach out to the community, since this is a known issue, to see if anyone has had luck with this problem.

Win10 probably broke it. (Insert spring update rant here.) Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Windows Media Player component. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling MAGIX MP3 deluxe 19 after manually wiping files. The files will open fine for VLC viewer, Groove and Windows Music player so... "It's a known issue." as per another post.

_EDIT_

Try editing the file. Right click on the *.wma and click "Edit track in Music Editor". You can export Mp3 from there. It's a little more work but it works for some reason when MP3 Deluxe does not.

Yes, that detour works.
