Unable to re-install

Begadoc wrote on 3/23/2021, 10:38 AM

Following a failure of my system disk I had to install a new one and reinstall all software. This is a Windows 10 system with the latest version of WIndows. Software all worked OK pre system failure.
However I am unable to reinstall Photostory Premium VR 2020. It appears to be doing so but the process bar stops about 2/3 of the way and an exclamation mark appears next to Photostory and Music Maker names. No other information.
I have cleared all references I could find to Magic on my disks as advised in the site technical section. Has not helped.
I have the exact same problem with the re-installation of Movie Edit Pro Plus 2021 but was able to reinstall Sound Forge Audio Cleaner (which originally was Magix).

@Begadoc

Hi

A common cause for the issues you are having with Photostory and Movie Edit Pro is your Antivirus's Folder protection/Ransomware/Real time protection feature blocking the program installation - try temporarily turning this off while installing.

. . . . I have cleared all references I could find to Magic on my disks as advised in the site technical section . . . .

Which site instructions are you referring to?

BTW Magix is the company name, Magic are a different entity.
