Hi

. . . .  'UCRTBASE.DLL error'  . . . .

This could be a display driver issue - are the graphics drivers up to date.

We also need more information about your computer and program version - please see this topic for more details of what is required - please quote processor and graphics card names and models in full.

Hi John,

I got onto Hewlett Packard who reinstalled my Intel graphics driver, which cleared that thanks.

But now when I start the Rescue Your Video tapes app, then select Import videos from analogue sources, then Import and click on the down-arrow, nothing appears. The VCR is powered up and connected.

@Stefan-Fedyszyn

Hi

The second problem is most likely due to the incorrect drivers being installed for the USB Video - see this Support topic and download/install the correct driver for the USB device colour you have.

Please read this message from Magix.

@Stefan-Fedyszyn

Hi

. . . . which one should I use  . . . .

That depends on the colour and markings on the Magix USB converter.

The red/white device requires the red drivers

For the black device, with or without markings, I would suggest using the Premium driver

If you are using a different converter then you need its manufacturers drivers.

What about the yellow dongle please ?

Stefan.

@Stefan-Fedyszyn

Hi

. . . . What about the yellow dongle . . . .

AFAIK Rescue your Video Tapes never came with a yellow dongle - what make/model is it?

Is it this one?

If so this is no good, it does not capture audio.

Hi,

There are three : red, yellow and white which came with the Magix USB stick model K0065.

@Stefan-Fedyszyn

Your picture shows the RCA Plug connectors, which are the "standard" colours, Red and White for audio right and left and yellow for the video.

What we really need to see, I think, is the actual USB dongle.

Hi

As I said above :

. . . . For the black device, with or without markings, I would suggest using the Premium driver . . . .

Using the yellow composite video input - you must select the Composite input within the program.

If the VCR has 2 SCART connectors make sure you use the one that has the video/audio out connections, the other may be for video/audio in.

@emmrecs

The dongle is on the right of the image Stefan posted, the K0065 has now been replaced by the K0067 (Premium version)

Stefan-Fedyszyn wrote on 5/1/2021, 7:03 AM

Hi,

Sorry but I forgot to ask if the K0065 will still work now or do I have to buy another Magix converter ?

Also, if I install the Premium version driver, will it stop my other drivers from working ?

CubeAce wrote on 5/1/2021, 7:24 AM

@Stefan-Fedyszyn

Hi Stefan.

Personally I have no idea, but the convertor was probably supplied for a specific earlier version of the program.The driver could be an update or released for the newer converter. John will probably know the answer to that.

Leaving a driver in place should not do any harm if not used and would be replaced by updating the driver if needed.

Magix to my knowledge has not had any dongles in stock for over a year now and have at least for now put a 'Not in stock sign' up on their website for longer than that, also making buying the latest version of the program unobtainable directly from Magix.

Ray.

Hi

. . . . I forgot to ask if the K0065 will still work now or do I have to buy another Magix converter  . . . .

The drivers provided on the Support page I linked to are the latest versions for the K0065 - the required driver is the Black either version will work.

Unless the converter is damaged/faulty then you should not need to buy another.

. . . . Also, if I install the Premium version driver, will it stop my other drivers from working ? . . . .

No, they will add, or replace the existing driver, for the USB device you have.

Other devices should not be affected.
