TV Commercial due TOMORROW- don't have needed format!

lynns wrote on 3/13/2014, 12:30 PM

I need help today before tomorrow morning! I'm a local videographer and I was hired to create a commercail that's airing on TV, and needs to be sent in by tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM. The required file formats in exporting are either .MOV or .MPG and Video Pro X 5 doesn't give that option in exporting as far as I can tell!

Is there a way I can re-format it in another program to .MOV? (.MOV is more important than .MPG becuase .MOV is the one all the other stations want the commercial in.)

Thank you for any help or suggestions you can offer! I have to have it by tomorrow morning, so I'm really desperate.

I'd be amazed if Video Pro X doesn't offer both of those export options, just as MEP does:

Hi

. . . .MOV or .MPG and Video Pro X 5 doesn't give that option in exporting . . .

For MOV format you must have Quicktime installed or you may need to update it if already installed.

MPG is definitely there as a standard option - however if you have installed one of the 'All in one' codec packs this may have messed up VPX 's codecs.

Okay, thank you for your helpful answers. I now have a new problem with exporting in a Quicktime format… When I click export, you can see the bar at the bottom of the program load something for less than a second, but then nothing happens. And when I try to find the file name on Magix, it’s there, but when I try to play it, the time is 00:00, and it literally recorded less than 1 single second of the beginning of the video I’m trying to export. Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

Hi,

It sounds as if you're a new user of Video Pro X 5? Have you successfully exported previous projects? Perhaps you should ask your (paying?) client to extend the deadline?  Hasn't it now passed anyway?

Are you sure you didn't enable the export option to restrict it to the selected range? In MEP 2014 it looks like this:

Thank you once again for your advice with this. I already sent in the version for the station that needed the file. But I still have 4 more stations left to send it to. (Thankfully their deadline isn’t until this Monday) And to answer several of your questions, I have succesfully exported at least near to 70 projects before. (Though I usually export in a .wmv format) Also, I did select the option to only export the selected range, because I currently have other material around the main 30 second spot.
