I think this is a question you need to ask of McAfee support.

Speaking personally, I would not let McAfee anywhere near a computer I owned! I recently purchased a new laptop which came with a trial version of McAfee installed; almost my first action, following initial set up, was to completely remove it!

I am in agreement with @emmrecs, I too do not allow McAfee, or Norton, security products anywhere near my computer or laptop.

Hi,

I have Norton on my desktop (had no problems with it) and Bitdefender on my Surface Pro. However, McAfee was banished forever years ago after terrible bug that killed access to the internet. The reaction of McAfee was abismal. Never again! Dump it.

Travel Maps works fine on my two computers.

Thank you three for responding, but I think Magix should be a little more concerned when a well known virus protector raises questions about internet connections from one of their apps.

Whether you like it or not, McAfee has many users. Some like it, others don't. Some have problems with initial use (Jeff the forum Moderator); some, like me, didn't. According to consumer reports, some think highly of McAfee; some couldn't run fast enough away. Sounds like a pretty common overall attitude about almost anything.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything with a google search on a McAfee "terrible bug that killed access to the internet." I'd like to know more about that. I presume that would be interesting reading.

I should have been clearer with my opening question. McAfee didn't block my usage. It opened with a warning about an internet link. I chose to ignore it, and went on with my work. Strangely enough, now, several days after posting the question, I don't get the McAfee warning. Could it have been a quirk on my laptop; could Magix have contacted McAfee to investigate and correct an issue. Could it reappear. Who knows? Maybe the Shadow do.
