Travel Animator PhotoStory 10 Unresponsive

mlmjcpa wrote on 6/19/2013, 8:02 AM

I have been away from this for a while hoping that updates, patches, etc. would solve the problem.  I can open the animator and it can find my first city - and that it all it does.  It will not let me do anything else other than zoom and unzoom that first destination.  The "edit destination" buttons are non-responsive other than opening or closing the list.  It doesn't work anything like the tutorial...  Really frustrated with this.  My version is up to date (I updated it on line and verified it was the most recent), I have tried to use it with firewalls and virus protection turned off.

It seemed to work a little better before all the updates.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I'm using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.

Thanks!

Hi

The Trave Route Animator is a live Internet feed to the Wizard and the response times are dependant on your PC - Internet connection chain - it may be worth checking your Internet connection speed and anything else in the chain ie Antivirus, Firewall, Spamware software and the hardware as well.

Hi,

In additions to John's comments I seem to remember that there was either a patch or an update for the travel animation.  If you have not used the product for a while, you may want to  check for that as well.

How would I find a patch that wouldn't already be inlcuded in the latest update?  Since I have already turned off virus protection and firewalls, I'm not sure how else to clean up my connection to the internet - I'm not that computer savy :)

I'm so disappointed because our trip was to Africa and I really thought it would be fun to show how far we flew to get there....

Hi

. . . . I have already turned off virus protection and firewalls . . . .

Please turn them back on if they are still off - it will not take long for you to get infected with a virus if you surf the Internet without them.

The updates are here https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/node/198717

I got excited for a minute with the link to the update.  Unfortunately the download is "unavailable at this time".  I'm not sure what that means.

I took the program home and loaded it on a home laptop which has high speed connections, a different router, etc.  Same problems.  I temporarily turned off the virus protection and firewall just in case that was an issue at home.  No luck.  I've resigned myself that this feature will not work for me....
