Transition vs Picture Duration & Syncing Music and Slides Together?

I am trying to transition to Magix PhotoStory from Memories On TV and am finding it difficult. If I should separate these out into 2 separate posts, please let me know.

1. I used to be able to have a picture show for x seconds and the transition in y seconds. I know I can set the duration for the "slide + transition" but wanted to do them separately. I could also apply this throughout without having to do it to each picture & each transition. Is this possible in PhotoStory?

2. I could sync the music I've selected with the number of slides I have so they end at the same time. It would automatically adjust the slide duration to fit.

Photostory does not have the capability of adjusting the settings independently, you would have to move up to Movie Edit Pro to be able to do this using the Trimmer, Single Object shown below

You could partially do this, however there are multiple steps

Changing photo length* - applies to images only

select all images you want to change , right click, select View duration and follow through the dialog.
Copy effects - applies to images and video

once you have set an effect on the first image, right click select Effects settings and either Apply to all or Apply to the following objects and follow through the dialog.
Copy transitions - applies to images and video

once you have set the transition and adjusted its length, right click the transition icon and select the appropriate Apply to . . . option and follow through the dialog.

* note you can change the duration of the image length in the Program settings, Options tab, this will set the image length to the set value on import.
