@Jan-Johnson

Hi Jan and welcome to the user to user forums.

I'm assuming your laptop is a lot newer than your PC.

If so just log into your main Magix account on the Magix website where you registered your program using your laptop, and download the program from there onto your laptop and activate it using the key provided on the website where you downloaded the program from.

Then transfer the files and project folders residing on your PC onto a portable USB hard drive if Photostory has a backup project function. Set the backup to go to the external hard drive. That will ensure the project startup file will know the location of all the files to be used are.

Always export projects with the files that have been used. (video clips and photos etc) or you will lose all the files and if not careful lose all of them permanently. There should be an option to do that in the backup project section.

Do not erase anything on the PC until you are sure you have all the files on the portable hard drive. Make a backup copy to another portable hard drive is made just in case. Always back up all data more than once. Even a new drive can fail.

Do Not under any circumstances be tempted to use a USB to USB lead to connect the two computers together for file transfers as it could result in damage to both machines if the wrong type of USB lead is used.

Ray.

Hi

. . . . I'm having a terrible time working Photostory Delux on my desktop. . . . .

What is the actual problem you are having?

What is your PC computer specification and program version of Photostory, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

If your projects involve video being used what is the format and resolution?

Sorry for all the questions, however the answers will enable to advise you better
