Total Failure on Windows 11

Cory-Janick wrote on 2/20/2023, 5:25 AM

I was able to record a full day session on the prior version of Samplitude but had issues with loss of ASIO driver connectivity. Once that was solved I have a full set of WAV files but needing to work offline I upgraded to your 2023 product. It is a total failure on a normal Windows 11 native sound card driver for playback. Nothing but static. Samplitude has also been making me register online every time I opened the product and it worked. Not sure how much of this is due to Windows 11 so far or compatibility with Samplitude 2023.

Respectfully please help.

@Cory-Janick

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff, sorry! Hence, the software is not ours and we honestly cannot do anything to change whichever product you have.

You've posted in the Samplitude area. Is this the product you have? Which version? Is it Pro X7? If it is the latter, there is a dedicated forum for that software here.

Are you aware that Windows 11 has "increased" security protocols that can prevent users accessing certain audio facilities and/or files and folders? I don't run Win 11 so cannot provide precise information on this but other posters here do so I will flag at least one of them, @johnebaker so that he will see your post.

If you want to contact Magix Support use the Support link found in the header of any forum page, always taking care to fully check each page that opens and always choosing the option (when offered) to "Ask Support" or "Email Support".

@Cory-Janick Are you using a new computer that came with Windows 11 or did you install an upgrade to Windows 11? Is your audio hardware compatible with Windows 11? Did you install compatible drivers?

ASIO loses with the previous version point to a problem with overloading your hardware. Check the performance options in the Samplitude system settings. Maybe you need to change the number of CPU cores or the modes.

So far this may be pointing to a RealTek audio driver issue on Windows 11 for playback vs. using ASIO and DAW for recording. Will report back after more testing to help anyone else who may run into a problem on Win 11.

I installed the updated ReakTek driver for Windows 11 from the Intel link here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/741495/realtek-high-definition-audio-driver-for-windows-11-for-intel-nuc12sn-products.html

I also installed ASIO4All v2.15 from this link: https://www.asio4all.org/

After setting the playback audio driver through ASIO4ALL to the RealTek card with updated driver so far things appear to be back in working order.

@Cory-Janick You might want to check out an Realtek ASIO driver. You can download this from Dell's website https://www.baumannmusic.com/2021/the-official-asio-driver-for-realtek-hd-audio-dell-hp-lenovo-asus/

This is what worked for me.

Made sure that i had the latest RealTek drivers installed on my new laptop (HP Envy) and downloaded the ASIO4All 2.15......and pointed it toward my RealTek audio card.

All seems good now.
