Can you be more precise about the problem please?

Have you added a text object to the timeline that is not showing?

Have you previously used an earlier version of the program or a different video editing package?

If yes, are you aware that the track order is upside down compared to the majority of other video editing packages? That the main video content track would be at the top and additional text etc should be put onto a track lower down on a higher track number. Click image to enlarge.
