Title issues. Not visible and unable to move

Fred-Hoeser wrote on 2/19/2024, 12:56 PM

Reference Movie Studio Platinum 2023 Ver 22.0.3.172 using Windows 10 Home Ver 22H2 Build 19045.4046.

New issues to me with Movie Studio in Feb 2024

1) Using the "T" button to add a title at a specific spot, the small box with "Title" surrounded by blue and a check mark and circle with a line through it show up and I can change the text, but when I click the check mark the text disappears. It is there because when I click on "S" in the channel with the text it shows in the monitor with a black background.

2) I was somehow able to make one title (The End) that does show up, but moving the object with drag and drop does not move the text. It is stuck in one spot.

Has anyone else had these issues? If so, what am I doing wrong? Very Frustrating.

Thanks.

Hi Fred.

Right click your Title Object and make sure the option highlighted in blue is not ticked. At some point in the past you may have accidentality or unknowingly activated this option.

Adding titles. I would do it this way but it isn't the only way.

Hi

. . . . channel . . . .

I assume you mean 'track', 'channel' is usually used when referring to audio, eg stereo has a left and right channel.

From what you are describing would suggest that there is another video or image object hiding the text - see video below:

Thanks so much for your help. It was indeed caused by the title being in a lower numbered track than the video. Definitely user error most likely because I am used to the Sony version of Movie Studio which uses track 1 for titles and 2 and 3 for the video/audio so I automatically dragged and dropped the video into track 2 leaving 1 empty so the title box object was automatically put into the empty track 1. I must admit I found it more intuitive on the Sony version as many of the tracks were pre-named for their function. I see that MAGIX is more flexible just not as easy to use for a novice.
