Greetings all,
This appears to be a bit of an old chestnut on the forum (or should that be new?) but I can't find any reference to this particular aspect of the codec so apologies if this has been covered but I couldn't find anything.
I don't "do" 4k and ever since I've had MS 2024 I've used the AV1 codec for some of my encodes, mainly slideshows, and while it's been slow with no hardware encoding (RTX 2060) the end result has I feel been worth the extra encoding time.
Courtesy of son #2, who built my current computer, I now have an RTX 4060 and it appears to be working quite well ☺️ and encoding to AV1 is definitely quicker with the hardware encoding facility.
This brings me to the point of this post. No matter what settings I use for the AV1 export, with hardware encoding enabled MS2024 seems to use it's own settings for bitrates - irrespective of my settings for resolution or variable/constant frame rates.
If I turn off hardware encoding then my bitrate settings are used.
I thought at first that it was the card deciding what to use but Handbrake and Xmedia Recode exports respect my settings.
My assumption is that this problem is a bug, has anyone else noticed?
