I am using Terratec Video Grabber for 3-4 years, but when I switched to Windows 10 from W 8.1 resently I get the text: No recording devices have been found in your system. o I need a new Driver?
Does the Terratec device show up in Device manager - if not then you may need a Windows 10 driver - ensure you install the 32 bit version as well as the 64 bit version.
If the Terratec does show up and is shown to be working properly, and Movies on DVD recognised it with Windows 8, then you may have to re-install Movies on DVD using this procedure.
I assume for your reply the the Terratec device show not show up in Device Manager - the Terratec drivers are available here. - you will need the Windows 32 bit version.
If the drivers will not install, try turning on Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 located as shown in the image below
If the Terratec then shows up and is shown to be working properly, and Movies on DVD still does not recognise it with Windows 8, then you may have to re-install Movies on DVD using this procedure.
. . . . My products, my aaount, my Terratec registered in 2011 har no serial number. Is the product too old? . . . .
When replying please supply the information and answer the questions asked - we have to go through the process, step by step, checking and updating the Terratec and checking the software before determining whether it is too old.
To anyone finding this very old thread and reading the post directly above this one:
Please be aware that the method listed on the linked page, although safe if followed carefully and exactly, does involve making (temporary) changes to Windows own security and protection protocols. It is all too easy to "damage" your Windows 10 installation such that it may subsequently fail to boot! Not to mention the "problems" inherent in using a 32 bit device in a 64 bit operating environment.
