Taking a long time to preview and save

Hi,

I have been having trouble with previewing videos/audio. After clicking on the preview button there is usually a 5 second delay before the video/audio plays in the preview screen. As a result I tried creating proxy files. After creating these the project takes around 20-30 seconds to save, is this normal?

Also the proxy files have not fixed my delay issue. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I have an i7-4770, 3.40GHz 14GB Ram. Using Video Pro x6, latest update.

Hi

What does the project timeline consist of? HD clips, many clips, what type of effects etc.? is it the same with another project or with a very small project. Has it only just started this behaviour?

You could try "Resetting the Program to Defaults" via the File menu.

Video files recorded on a flip cam, so nothing huge. I tried starting over, this time I chose not to create proxy files. Everything works perfectly. I'm not sure what advantage the proxy files had, I guess I didn't need them.
