im having problems with some video files in magix movie edit pro 12
the video from my camcorder (samsung SC-X105L)

so i contacted magix support ect...
i sent him video file for analysis and he said it worked on his computer ect...

so he told me to do a syscheck test and hopefully it would help

i have fixed some things that it told me to and so far the program doesnt work but i need help with some things that i dont know how to fix these problems

here they are

Main memory error!
Your Computer has logged memory errors in the following buckets:

  1. 0x1C6BC8BA (2008-10-25  18:48:12)
  2. 0x1C6BC8BA (2008-10-24  11:12:01)
  3. 0x1C6BC8BA (2008-10-24  11:08:03)
  4. 0x1C6BC8BA (2008-10-23  21:06:32)
  5. 0x1C96F4C7 (2008-10-23  20:39:41)
  6. 0x1C6BC8BA (2008-10-20  17:55:25)
  7. 0x1C96F4C7 (2008-10-12  22:19:52)
  8. 0x1C96F4C7 (2008-10-12  22:10:15)
  9. 0x1C96F4C7 (2008-10-12  20:39:03)

This is unfortunately not acceptable.  As such, you could get the following checked:
- memory modules (you could test these using the free version of Memtest86
from www.memtest86.com),
- voltage to the processor,
- power supply,
- cooling fan

If you decide to buy new memory, and performance is a main concern, then it is
recommended that you replace the old modules completely--or the PC may work at
the speed of the old memory. It is also not recommended installing more than
two memory modules if you want a fast and stable system. However, if you have
to install more than two, the speed in the BIOS needs to be reduced. Something
which often happens automatically, but with a drastic reduction in
performance. In such a case you should perhaps have the system checked.

In addition, there is a maximum amount of memory up to which Windows still
functions correctly.

Windows 2000, XP              2048 MB
Windows 98, 98se, ME           512 MB

Unfortunately over this, the system becomes unstable.

[ 6.]
Hard disk speed problem detected!
Your hard disk "C:\" has a speed of 19 MB/s which is insufficient for the
processing of video data.  Installing the standard Microsoft IDE driver and
activating the DMA (direct memory access) mode may help to solve this problem.

[ 7.]
Hard disk speed problem detected!
Your hard disk "D:\" has a speed of 15 MB/s which is insufficient for the
processing of video data.  Installing the standard Microsoft IDE driver and
activating the DMA (direct memory access) mode may help to solve this problem.

[ 8.]
Possible error in IRQ channels that are being used together!
In your system the following IRQs (interrupt requests) are being used by
several devices at the same time:

IRQ 16:  Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family (Intel Corporation)
IRQ 16:  Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) PCI Express Root Port - 27D2 (Intel)
IRQ 16:  Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller - 27CB (Intel)
IRQ 19:  Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Intel)
IRQ 19:  Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller - 27C9 (Intel)

This may drastically decrease the performance of your PC and may not be
suitable for many devices.

If your PC often "Hangs" or simply keeps rebooting and/or displays a
"Blue Screen", the problem specified here can be the cause. To solve the
problem, you can deactivate unused interfaces, e.g. Modem, MPU401, Parallel
and Serial devices in the BIOS, and you could get the PCI cards installed into
other PCI locations. All of these devices must have their own IRQ chanel for
interrupt requests.

Generally:
USB, network and FireWire card's get along well with one another and can share
IRQ channels.

Graphic, Sound, TV Capture, SCSI, IDE (RAID) and Satellite (DVB) card's often
cannot share their IRQ channels together with other devices.
And if they do work, then only with a substantial reduction in system performance.

These errors usually indicate hardware problems.
You could therefore, have the following checked:

- memory modules (you could test these using the free version of Memtest86
from www.memtest86.com),
- processor,
- power supply,
- cooling fan.

If none of the above helps, you could try rewriting the header info on the AVI
files produced by your camera - it might help:

You can use a great free program called DV Date to rewrite the header information:

http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm

Bring in the footage and convert it to DV type 2. In doing so, the header info
will be rewritten and hopefully therefore produce no crash guards when imported
into Movie Edit Pro. This does not reduce the quality of the clip in any way, but
merely rewrites the header info.
--------------------------------------------------------

i did try the memtest86.com and i have noooo idea how to use it

and i tried dv date but it keeps being non responsive and shutting down

PLEASE HELP!!!
I NEED TO GET THIS VIDEO DONE ASAP!!!

After reading over your list in detail I firmly believe that your memory modules are the heart of these problems. The test is not even accurate with faulty memory installed. Most of this will clear up when you fix that.

Realistically you should go down and get a large (1024 MB) stick and replace whatever you have... if you can afford it get two. Ram is not very expensive.

I've seen on so many occasions what I call a ram cocktail... mismatched memory sticks that cause problems just like you're experiencing. Sometimes you don't know you have a problem until you use memory intensive applications.

Fix your memory, then re-run the test. I bet 90% or more of the list will disappear.

Hi, I have a question, how long was it before you got a response from them after doing the syscheck ? I've been waiting over a week :/
