Sync Duration to Music

I have spent hours messing about with the software after purchasing.

I am trying to get the slideshow duration to match my song.
48 photos, 1 song at 3:41 duration.

I have tried putting the images on the timeline at anywhere from 2-7 seconds each then running the slideshow wizard, adding the background music and selection the sync duration to music option in the wizard.

It keeps extending the project past the music track and playing the first minute of the song again.

I have never had such a problem with syncing in other programs as I have had here.

Yeh I have run it through as listed there and it does the same thing still.
Even setting the pictures as low as 2 seconds in the settings tab once run through the wizard it still pushes it out closer to 5 mins and adds a minute of the song on the end.

In Timeline view zoom out so that you can see the whole project and check that there is nothing at all at the extreme right hand end of the line. (You might need to zoom in on the end in order to be able to see all the detail.) It sounds rather as if there might be a "stray" image or similar right at the end which PS is including in the export.

The wizard is not 100% effective and in my case I had to resort to a combined approach to syncing

Use the Magix Remix agent wizard to get the beat/tempo - work through the wizard and at last screen ensure Snap markers is selected and apply.

Use the snap markers to sync the images manually, if you are just using cut transitions this is quick, however if you are using a mix of transitions, then you have to take into account the transition time when determining the length of the images and any slight drift in the beat of the music.

Working with images and video - this gets a little more complicated. I did the following - note I was using Movie Edit Pro however the method works in Photostory:

Use the Remix Agent on the music to set snap markers
Synced a series of test colours with the transitions applied - in my case only crossfades and synced to alternate beats - adjusting the lengths of the test images to account for drift.
Copied to test images to the project as a group and aligned them with the start of music.
Manually adjusted the image and video lengths, speed as well for video where possible, to match the sync test images images.
Longer lengths of video were synced to multiple beats
Made any minor adjustments necessary to resync , especially if the video was 1 or 2 frames out due to speed adjustment.

This is a useful method for syncing for example intro's or outro's if you use a common music clip throughout your projects.
