Splitting audio into multiple individual tracks.

I am using Sound Forge 17 on a Dell XPS8930 computer running Windows 11. I have a 12 hour audio recording including several individual songs that I would like to split at the silence interval between songs. What is the best way to do this with Sound Forge 17?

You can divide the file into tracks, inserting silence at the beginning or end of each track.

What exactly are you trying to accomplice? Do you want to copy the songs to put them on new separate file(s)? If that is the case, there are a few ways to do that.
Select the song's region, choose 'Edit> Trim/Crop' and 'Save as' for a new file. or copy the song(s) regions and paste to a new file (File> New) with the same attributes (sample rate, bit depth, channels)

You could also 'split' the song at the head/tail points using 'Edit> Tool> Event' mode and move the song around, add x-fades, ect., ect.
