This is not the Vegas forum website.

I don't know if anyone here would know.

. . . .  Spectralyers Pro 3.0, which I have been using for several years. After upgrading my Mac to Big Sur, . . . . So, is there any way to hold Magix accountable? . . . .

Given the software is 5+ years old it is well out of its support period, the current version being SpectraLayers 8..

Are you are trying to use Spectralayers in Sound Forge Pro for MAC, which is a 32 bit program and is no longer supported?

If so then your issue is with Apple for dropping support for 32 bit programs with the release of Catalina in 2019 and later versions of the MAC OS.

Hello, Welcome

Spectralayers was purchased by Steinberg in 2019 and I would kindly direct you to their support platform for further advice here.

No, I have been running it standalone. The purchase by Steinberg seems irrelevant. The message says to contact Magix support to license the software. Since Magix has apparently abandoned supporting the applications it bought, it looks like I am SOL. I put in my ID and password, and nothing happened. Lame horse.

browj2 wrote on 1/29/2022, 10:38 PM

@Curtis-Polk

Magix products do not have a password. They use your email address, the one that you registered the program with, and an activation code.

Did you purchase SpectraLayers from Magix?

If so, I presume that you had a serial number or activation code from Magix, correct?

And that you registered with Magix and activated SpectraLayers using that code, correct?

And that you don't know what your activation code is, correct?

Then, go to Magix.com, log in to your account, using your email address/password, go to My Products and look it up.

@johnebaker

Hi John EB,

I am presuming that if a version of SpectraLayers was purchased from Magix, it would still show up under one's account.

No, I purchased it when it was part of the Sony suite. I'll try your suggestion.

It does show that the product was registered, and lists the serial number.

Hi, I have got the same problem as the user who started this thread here. The Software Package that I bought was called Sony Audio Master Suite Mac 2.0, which included Spectral Layers 3.o MAC.

If I bought a Version of Windows 3.11 back in the 90s, I am still free to use it as long as I have access to compatible hardware. This is not about support, but being able to use ones license as it was meant to be.

micsinger wrote on 7/22/2022, 6:39 PM

Same here. Everything registered.

Curtis-Polk wrote on 7/22/2022, 6:41 PM

I'll have to give up on this. Luckily, Apple now provides audio noise reduction in FCPX. I doubt that I can film in a public park with ambulances going by on their way to the medical center and then take out the sirens as I could in Spectralayers, but it's better than nothing.

micsinger wrote on 7/22/2022, 6:56 PM

This is how it looks as soon as I try to start Spectral Lyers 3.0 on MAC. I am in contact with Magix Pro Support and will let you know how things proceed.
