Sound in videos are not audible in Magix

For the last two or three days, when video files are dragged and dropped from the media pool into the timeline, (how I always do it) the audio doesn’t play, and when I try to put the settings so that the audio and video is on different tracks, nothing happens, as if there is no audio to be shown. Also, the same applies when I preview it before putting it in the timeline on Magix. However, if I play the exact same file on Windows Media Player, the audio is fine, and I hear perfectly. Video files with audio that I already placed on the timeline from last week I can play with no audio difficulties. Not sure if this is helpful, but I can play any audio-only file like .wav or .mp3 files. Any suggestions? I would be happy to give more information if you would be willing to take the time and ask.

Have you already marked up a checkbox like "extract audio from video" in your program settings ?

Sorry, but I have only the german version:

Hi

In addition to Delphi's question - has any thing been changed :-

   - on the computer eg new audio or video software installed ?

   - the source of the video changed eg new camera ?

   - in the camera settings ?

John

Oh my goodness! For once the very first suggestion has worked! Thank you both so much! I just needed to click "Extract sound from video". It was that simple. Thank you so much.
