I have the same problem. Looking at the box, it says New Version (2020). That's as much technical skill as I have so the Christmas present is, sadly, unusable as my son is in a different part of the country. It was going well up until that point...I just had to watch out for the computer being 'strained' and quickly stopping the recording. I can now record the sound perfectly but the picture disappears as soon as I save the recording. ;(
