I'm using Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 18.5.0.and recently renewed software updates. The software goes through the update process, but it stays at 18 rather than upgrading to the latest version.
If you upgraded to v19, meaning that it was obvious that that is what you were doing and it actually installed on your computer, then you are probably opening version 18, which is still on you computer and not 19. Go under Windows start and scroll down to Xara and select 19. There should also be a v19 icon added to your desktop.
If you have put Xara in the task bar at the bottom of the screen and are using that to open the program, you will be opening V18 because that icon is linked to V18. You need to change it.
If 19 is not there, then give details as to what was actually going on when you upgraded.
Hi John. Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I upgraded to v19 and found it in the list of Xara products, so I made a shortcut to the task bar that looks just like the 18 version, but it says it's 19.
Then, when I tried to open it, it asked me to register the software for .XAR files and .WEB files, which I did.
Then, a Welcome screen appeared asking me to register the product. It came back and told me that the serial number was already registered to my email address. Error code: 24
So, I looked at the email confirmation of the upgrade and it was a different serial number, so I used that one, and it's still telling me it's already registered to my email so it won't let me open the software.

I don't think that it gives you an error telling you that " it's already registered to my email" but rather it's already registered to an email address that is not the one that you are using.
Make sure that the email address is the one that is linked to your account as that is your user name. Check in your account.
I am surprised that they gave you a new activation code. Normally, it's the same code - Magix just extends the expiry date of the Xara ... 365 in your account.
What do you see in your account? Has the date been changed?
Do you already have two devices activated and it's telling you this? If so, deactivate one of them and then try activating Xara 19 again.
I was surprised, too. But found I had used another email for my account. Using that email with the new serial number didn't work, but I changed it back to the original and now it's working.
However, now it says:
Renew the Update Service Installs the latest version of the Update Service for your software. "Start Installation" button
Should I do that? Don't I already have the latest version since it updated to 19?
. . . . Renew the Update Service, Installs the latest version of the Update Service for your software. "Start Installation" button. Should I do that?. . . .
The Update Service is a 'sub feature' of the program, it is a small update and nothing will appear to have happened once installed.
I would suggest uninstalling Magix Cloud Import, it may also be named Update Notifier, Magix Connect, or Connect.
