Hi

. . . . perfomance of pro x6 after it eventually loads isn't great when editing the perfomance is slow . . . .

If you are editing HD video then the Notebook will be slow loading and editing due to it being below the minimum specification required.  The notebook may also shown signs of running at reduced clock speed due to the load on the processor causing heating issues.

Also if you have a 'heavyweight' antivirus suite running this will also severly sap resources and slow down the Notebook even more.

Hi

. . . . looks like a new laptop is on the cards. . . . .

My advice would be a full blown PC unless of course you require the portabilty, in either case I would recommend a machine with an Intel i5 and integrated HD graphics processor and 16GB of RAM.

IMHO there is not much point in spending loads of money on an i7 processor - the benefits are marginal and AMD processors do not have the power of the Intels when it comes to video processing.

Hi again,

I don't think there will be any need for me to get a new laptop magix video pro x6 runs fine on my older toshiba laptop with windows 7 on it and the strangest thing is ,that the laptop is lower spec than my hp so im thinking that it maybe a compatibitly issue with windows 8.1 that i think magix need to look in to.
