When i get a message like the following what do I do? how to resolve this when the "object is short"? how do i apply this particular transition to the slide?

Hi

The message is telling you that the object you are applying the fade is shorter than the duration of the fade - check the length of the object you are applying the fade to - it must have a very short duration - switch to Timeline mode and zoom in to see if there is a very short clip - it may be as little as 1 frame long as shown below.
