SF 12 is all of a sudden saving TEXT docs with my audio files?

sathyme wrote on 11/17/2020, 12:24 PM

This JUST started 2 days ago it appears. I'm saving a file. I go back to look for it to upload to wherever the audio needs to be uploaded to and I see - YES - the .wav or MP3 depending on how I saved the file, YES - I see the .sfk file - since I never took that function off - BUT NOW I ALSO SEE a Text Document file - of which I will paste JUST A PORTION - as it is Long - here below. WHAT is THAT and WHY is THAT - I didn't change my settings - I AM having problems with SF12 and I am going to do a separate post if I can't figure them out but WHAT is this Doc.?

That appears to be the BWF loudness log,.. which is normally generated in the Statistics menu. Try unchecking the entry "Auto update BFW Origination time reference" in "Options> Preferences> General"

Why this is happening I do not know and I have not read of this issue prior.. you could try:
- Re-set SF to the factory defaults (file menu).
- Reinstall SF ,,, or uninstall using a third-party uninstaller, then reinstall.
- Contact Magix tech support, .

Thank you - I un-clicked it and it didn't work - I don't want to reset - as it took me AWHILE to get this working better (I remember you helped me in prior posts) - SO - I will probably contact support - It makes no sense why this happened all of a sudden!

All of the sudden, out of nowhere - I too am getting these files.

AUDIOTRACKNAME_LOUD.TXT

and also -

AUDIOTRACKNAME_LOUD.TXT.PREVIOUS

No update to the software, no setting that I have changed. This just appears in the last 48 hours.

Frustrating.

The program is posting the same files for me now... SF 15 Pro Suite. loud.txt and loud.txt.previous files for every track I save. Really annoying. Did we ever find a solution or cause, or most importantly, a way to turn it off?

Hi @Colin-Taber, I have not experienced that issue and am not currently aware of a permanent setting, I will however take a look in the internal preferences.
Have you tried resetting Sound Forge yet? (File> "Reset all preferences and clear cached data) may resolve the issue.

Thanks for responding. I will try and reset - that sounds promising, and probably won't delete all my presets. :)

I'm not sure it won't delete the presets.
