Script Error when launching Travel Route utility

Win 10 - Photostory Deluxe Version 17.1.4.152

Just installed this product and got the available update for the version, but when I go into the Travel Route wizard I get a javascript error. I've attached a screenshot. Everything on my machine is updated and current - browsers, windows updates, etc.

Would love to be able to use this utility, so any help is appreciated.

@William-Bounds

What happens if you ignore the error and click "Yes"?

Regardless of how I answer the "continue running scripts" prompt, the travel animation screen loads (see attached image) and displays a light blue background where the map is supposed to be. At that point, zooming in/out has no effect, and if attempt to find any specific location using the dialog box in the left column, the program returns a message saying it cannot find the specified location.

@William-Bounds

Thank you for the update. Sorry that suggestion was no help to you!

However, back-tracking through the thread I notice you say you just installed PS version 17.1.4.152. Assuming you only recently acquired this, from where did you buy it? I ask because the current latest version is 19.0.2.46 so you are two full versions "old". I wonder whether the update you received (was it to Travel Route, now called Travel Maps) was actually not applicable to your version of PS? (I've just opened Travel Maps in my installation of PS and it runs without problem.)

Hopefully, another user who has seen this problem before may be able to offer advice! As a last resort, you might try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the software. See and follow the details in this tutorial to ensure you fully remove the app before attempting the reinstall. (Although written as a guide to assist with problems following any upgrade to Win 10, it also serves as a template for the complete removal of any Magix app.)

@emmrecs

Jeff,

I had bought this as part of a "Humble Bundle" a while back - it also included Xara Web Designer and a bunch of other Magix software packages. I have been using Cyberlink Powerdirector for a couple of projects and thought I would give this a try.

I'll try following the uninstall/reinstallation process and see what happens.

Thanks,

Bill

@William-Bounds

Hi,

Reinstalling will do nothing. There is a problem with the mapping in the old TRA and I don't know if it will be resolved.

Magix has a relatively new mapping plugin called Travel Maps that does work.

@browj2

John,

Thanks for the info. I did go ahead and download the newest version as a trial to see if/how it worked and the new Travel Maps does work.

@William-Bounds

Hi Bill,

Hope you like it. I find the new travel maps much better, now that they have most of the problems sorted out. The maps include satellite mapping.

The only thing is, you would be better off with MEP Plus or Premium, same Travel Maps but better tools and more tracks, etc.
