Samplitude Music Studio 2013 - Grid Offset

Hi

Can you help me.  I have been using Magix Audio Studio for over ten years.  I'm hooked since it's taken me along while to get to figure out how to work it and now I wouldn;t be without it!  I have an issue with the new Samplitude Music Studio 2013 I just bought.  That is when I select a range of  track which I wish to set up a  4/4 grid so that I can align samples against the beats.  Pretty simple request – BUT I find that the grid when selected does not align with the beats!  This is what I do and what happens:

File -> Project Properties -> Snap and Grid Set-up -> (Project Options – General)

Get BPM from selected range – works fine!

Grid – ticked
Beat Grid – radio button depressed, 1/4 selected
Current position as grid start position (value shown as 00:01:12:02)
Show grid – ticked, 'Rhythm/beats' selected.
'Also use grid offset for grid' - ticked

Ignore 'Change project tempo' i.e. Don't tick any

Grid is shown with the correct tempo BUT it isn't aligned to the 'current position as grid start position' as I wanted.  It seems to align to the start of the project at 00:00:00.  Is this somethiong to do with the integrated MIDI or something.  This used to work fine on Audio Studio 2003 many years ago.

Any ideas?  or explanation?  The manual is not very informative in this regard.

Thanks!

Duffers
