Samplitude 15. Change Recording Speed

Making a CD.  How do I change 'Recording Speed' from '62x' back to  4x

I have been making CDs from this laptop for over two years. Suddenly can't record the music program I've made. I suspect it's because of the recording speed that has been set (62x). But I can not select 4x because it has been 'grayed out'. HELP !!

Hi

This sort of problem occurs when you have used a CD which has a speed rating which is higher than the CD/DVD drive can handle or a CD which is over  rated - this can occur with unbranded discs.

The software reads the speed rating of the disc and adapts accordingly.

A 4x speed rating for CD is very slow - this is more likely a speed rating for CD-RW or DVD

Try putting a genuine speed rated disc (rewriteable?) which your drive can handle and see if the speed rating is dropped to the slower speed.
