You can import DVDs into Movie Edit Pro, as long as they're not copy-protected. It doesn't require a special procedure or function. You just need to file-import the VOB files on the DVD (under "VIDEO_TS" folder) into the Movie Edit Pro timeline.

"Ripping" in the context of DVDs often refers specifically to the circumvention of copy-protection facilities. (As opposed to audio CDs, most commercial DVDs come at least with some degree of copy-protection.) This is not featured in Movie Edit Pro for obvious reasons.
